Dog attack on - well, it's a goose, but I don't know where else to go.

Going on almost 6 days - dressing changes every day. He's living in my bathroom - you should hear it when he hears his girlfriend >< He drinks on his own, and started eating crumbles on his own as of last night, but has a small problem with them, as the tip of his lower beak is missing. The...

Ok. Slathered his neck in Silvadene, after I cleaned it again. loose bandage (REALLY loose), just to keep the Silvadene in place. Procaine Pen G given (by the post referred to, about 1/2 cc by his weight). I will be cleaning/slathering/injecting tomorrow. Any tips on getting him to eat? He sorta...

Thank you Dawg53. There's a lot of skin gone. I did get a very good look. I hope he makes it. If he does, it will granulate back in?

Flushed them - slathered them with neo - I do have Tylan, is that anything that would be useful for this? I don't want to traumatize him more - he's so quiet it's scary (this is a goose that will chase you down for good measure cause he loves his Inky (female goose) and doesn't like you near...

Oh, and - I do have him in the house, in a tub, where he's warm, and I've put the light out so he stays quiet.

I believe one of my dogs was able to grab my goose through the fence - it makes utterly no sense though, because when I called the 2 in, they sure weren't worrying anything, nor were they fixated on anything - there was NO goose in the back yard when I put them up. Anyway, I saw Gus' head...

    Chicken Protection Question

Thank you. The lambs I have, are almost grown up, so teaching them to respect it may be a bit harder - but doable. And yes, I will be getting polytape for the horses - very visible, and really nice stuff. My sheep are Gulf coast native - so wooly all over but for legs, face, and tummies.

Quote: Yes, I do. The banty brahma, and banty jersey were with them - and other than her squaking, that's what got me - they went for the hawk. I love roos. Just not at 3, 4, and 5 am

Thanks for the advice on where not to shoot - I probably should have said I would be shooting at a HUGE branch in a BIG oak. I think...maybe I can hit that, and miss the hawk. But as it stands, I didn't do anything, except gather chickies up. I also am not stupid enough to shoot a live round, I...

    Chicken Protection Question

@Bear Foot Farm - THANK you for the links. We are planning to install electric fencing - to keep the horses IN, and other stuff out. This was SO helpful - I'm still gonna get that donkey tho! I'm curious - on sheep - I did read what was on the links - but wool sheep? They are affected by the...

I was about to go shoot in the air with my ruger - I am not blessed with a rifle, tho I'd not be shooting AT the hawk, just to scare it. We have a breeding pair - this was small - I'm wondering if it was a baby that returned.

Yeah, you are right. I just caught Freeps and Pearl - they are my silver duckwing bantam games...I stuck them in a cage. They hate me now Just need to round up a few more. I wasn't surprised they would go after some of the small ones - what floored me was going after a nearly full grown...

My son and I were sitting on the porch - suddenly, the chickens that just strolled by us start raising cain. Got up just in time to see a red tailed hawk try to take one of my white cochins. Other than keeping them cooped ALL the time - HOW do I stop them? Henny is fine, just a nick on her head...
