I'm so glad I got the run covered before the first snow. Last year, hubby bought clear tarps so I can kinda see what the chicks are doing. They didn't last the winter. Sorry about your pet, Dream. It's so hard to lose them. I had three dogs pass in a short time last year. Heartbreaking. But, every one has been my "everything". They are all so special in their own way. I missed having that connection so much, that we adopted another dog within weeks...- chickflick

My roses are still blooming. Hard to put flower garden to bed! Coyote spotted too close to my house. Way too close. My Blue Plymouth rock (Sapphire Gem) is a good rooster. No aggressive behavior towards humans. Did attack my daughter's dog once, which was a stranger to him. My dog got into a tussle once. But that was it. He's learning manners. Crows a lot! Think I can keep him. Taking my daily walk...- chickflick

One of my young pullets that I got on May 2nd has laid her first egg on Thursday! And another yesterday. She came up on the upper deck and was scootching around in a corner. Looking around. Refreshing, that's for sure!! Nice not to sweat, lol. My walk with my dog was very pleasant. i had a hen that went blind. She got along pretty good, but yes put her in the coop at night.- chickflick

TSC mislabeled their chicks... I forgot what the bin was labeled, but it wasn't Sapphire Gem. Bought 3 chicks of I thought a breed of Delaware. Did research and found Blue Hen Delaware. But still really didn't match. The hens legs turned black. Funny tho, the rooster's legs stayed yellow...- chickflick
