Ringneck pheasant hen mating with my rooster

I love your sense of humor!!! I have read that chicken/pheasant hybrids are possible but the development of the chick can be problematic. Some don't develop properly and die in the egg, but some do survive after hatching. A confession ... I am one of those crazy scientist (but not too crazy)...

Time after mating & production of eggs

I am very new to chickens so I am uncertain as to when to expect eggs after our hens have mated with our rooster. We are willing to allow some of the eggs to be hatched by one of our hens. I look forward to hearing from you.

Hello, We have an 8' X 15' pheasant coop (not including the outdoor run), and plan to introduce our EasterEgger chickens soon. Our plan is to introduce the chickens in the coop in wire dog cage for at least four days. We have two heat lamps hanging from the rafters of the coop to keep the...

    Chickens & Pheasants

Hello, We are new "parents" of 6 pheasants and 5 EasterEgger chickens. Soon we will be introducing our 5 chickens with our pheasants. We are planning on placing the chickens in large wire dog crates (with food and water, obviously) so the pheasants can become accustomed to the chickens for...
