I have 14 chickens and have been trying to figure out who is laying which egg. I'm pretty certain that the shade of the egg shells may change slightly from day to day, which is making it pretty confusing. It's just a slight difference, from a medium tan to a darker tan or med brown to darker...
I think I've seen people recommend both ways. I did the 3 consecutive days on one chicken a few months back. She seems fine now. But the single dose and redose in 10 days seems to make more sense to get the newly hatched worms. What are ya'lls experiences?
I've been using safeguard, and just ordered a bottle of valbazen, but would would love to get a hold of some flubenvet for the no egg withdrawal. Seems like it was availiable to order in the US a fews year ago, but maybe not now?
I've looked at numerous sites with no luck. Can you buy on amazon uk and have it shipping to the US? Any other effective dewormers out there with no egg withdrawal?
Update......#4 laid a green egg this week!! How did ya know? Some one else starting laying green eggs yesterday. I stalked the chickens today, and found #4 in the nesting box, but the other one did a sneak lay while we were eating lunch! Sneaky little chicky. Will let ya know who it is...
Oh I forgot to mention. I think the black ameraucana might be a mix with an australorp because of the blue/green tint to it's feathers. Maybe the same with the 4th chicken(black with a brown head) That one has some blue/green tint too. What do you think?
I was thinking that one is a light sussex also. What color eggs do you think she will lay? I doubt any of them are purebred ameraucanas. The man we got them from said he likes to mix up his chickens. He thinks they are healthier that way.
Thanks for the insight! I'm really excited to see...
Thanks K spot! I see what you are saying about the welsummers. I was looking at her yellow neck feathers. Wonder what she is then? Thanks for explaining the difference between EE and Ameraucanas. Only my white leghorns and red sex links are laying, so should be interesting to see what color...
The white and black one has a single comb. The last picture, the man we got them from were calling them sussex. They have yellowish legs and single combs I believe, so Pele is saying barred rocks? So I dunno
Do you think the first one might be a welsummer? And what characteristics...
Thanks so much for your input! Here's another picture of #1 and #4. I didn't think they were easter eggers, but who knows! Your guess is probably better than mine.
Got our first flock of chickens but not sure what breed they are. The man we got them from says they are a mix of different breeds. I have my guesses, but wanted to see what others thinks. Also, they should all be hens(hopefully). Let us know if there are any suspicious possible roosters in...
