got 2 eggs again today , both normal , so am now assuming one of the other young hens starting to lay, and first one a bit underdeveloped .hopefully all ok now , thanks for advice
hi , i've been getting 2 eggs daily for about 4 weeks, but then today i've got an egg with very thin shell, does anyone know wether this is likely to be another chook starting to lay, or one of the others stopping laying for the time of year.

does anyone know how much daylight is neccesary , as i have been told less than 12 hours and they stop laying mine haven't started yet , and the days are starting to close in
mine still not laying , but conflicting information been given , i person says try a bit of poultry tonic in the water , another says its too late this year and they won't start till spring , due to lack of daylight hours . can anyone give any other advice . the chooks are out from approx 7.00...
i already have two dogs around the place , and am considering using the back end of my garden which is currently surrounded by a six foot high wooden fence, i will be blocking any obvious openings with a strong pet mesh .

we bought some P.O.L chickens on Saturday, not sure how long we will have to wait for the eggs. They seem to have settled in well. Getting excited about our first egg, sure myself & hubby will have to share it. I also get calls off my in-laws everyday asking if they have laid yet lolol.
Oh gosh, this seems to be more tricky than I thought! I haven't even got any eggs off my hens yet and already I am not sure if we need to wash them or not. They do seem to be pooping in the nest box at the minute so need to read up a bit more on that.
