    Sex Linkage Question

    I have a broody hen that will hatch eggs any day now. I was wondering if I will be able to tell the hens sex by its parents. I have a black rooster and white and red hens. Does this mean that any chicks that are black will be female and the red or white ones will be roosters?

    feed question

    I was getting mash for my chickens but they were making a mess with it so I switched to pellets. I mixed them until I ran out of the mash but they don't seem to be eating the pellets. What should I do? Will the eventually get used to the pellets?

    Thank You! I am Very devestated especially since I tried so hard to do everything right! I am having no luck raising baby chicks this year, think I might just go out and buy adolesent ones so I don't have to deal with the fragilness of the babies. I don't think I ever want baby chicks again...

    Stressed~

    I surely do!! My chicks were doing great until today when a dozen or so died. I tried so hard going above and beyond for the babies only to feel like a failure. I am so heartbroken and upset. I can't go through this again I am done!

    I have my baby chicks in the house and the smoke alarm went off today and 10 of them died? I am worried about the rest of them can they recover from stress? Some are not looking so good and don't know if there is anything I can do for them. I am so upsed and stressed myself over this?
