She is separated from the other hens, i guess at this point she's down to 13-14 eggs. The last time she got up to eat and drink was a couple days ago and I counted 16. And we have lost 2.
Hi all,
So, about a couple of weeks ago I noticed one of my hens was hiding her eggs. She had been sitting on (count them) 16 eggs. Every couple days we notice she kicks an egg out because i guess she knows it didn't make it. Today we found an almost full size chick out of its shell across the...
Hello,
I live in Maryland in the U.S., I have six hens. Three of them are about a year and a half and the other three I got in April of this year. I have seen lots of threads for chickens not laying eggs and I cant seem to find one on the problems I am having unless I missed it. Right now, out...
Ok so there’s really nothing I can do about it? I saw some tips I could try and do online, but there was only one day this week that she wouldn’t leave the nest, so haven’t really needed to do anything.
Ok yes she has some of these symptoms. But has been waking around as usual all day today. And no signs of eggs from any of the girls today. So I’m really confused. Why would the others stop laying just because the RIR would possibly become broody?.
hey all,
So earlier this week my RIR started sitting on her egg and other chickens eggs all day. I don’t have a rooster so they are not fertilized. I was able to get them from her and she came out of the box fine. The next day she didn’t lay any eggs and one of the other hens didn’t lay, she...
The 1 week old chicks are in a brooder in our mud room with a heat lamp. And I am located in Maryland. It is 68 degrees out right now. The area where I’d be putting them blocked off from the big girls is 3ft x 1 1/2 feet. With a nice dog house that the 8 week old chick uses now for a coop at night
Hi,
I have asked some questions and read some articles already posted about chicks and intergrading with existing chickens and how to do it etc. However, I have more questions haha. So, long story short, I bought two barred rock chicks back in February (I live in Maryland). I already have...
Beautiful birds and eggs!. The only thing with mine that you can’t tell from the picture is that the darker one is bigger than the lighter one. And the darker one has darker feet, the other one is lighter and has slate/somewhat yellow ♀️
