Hey!
These are my first barred rock chicks. I already have RIR and americanas. I’ve been reading how to determine the sex of them through other threads. However, I’m stuck because I see both traits of male and female on both. Can you guys help me out?. I wanted two females but I think I got one of each. Thanks so much!!

The darker one looks to be a cockerel. I’m still learning, but I’m 90% sure. LOL. Looks like some saddle feathers coming in. I can’t see the comb on the other one, but feathers say Pullet. Again 90% sure. Beautiful birds

I thought the dark one was a cockerel too, but other posts and pictures say the dark ones are pulleys, so idk lol. I guess I’ll just keep waiting to see

Maybe it's just the lighting, but I thought Barred rocks had yellow legs. Can't see the color of the lighter bird's legs too well, but the darker one has some greenish/slate legs going on! Lovely birds, regardless.

ETA: How old are these birds?

That’s what I thought too. They both have slate legs. Although one does have yellowish feet behind the slate color. That’s why I’m confused LOL.

My guess is two girls. Boys are lighter in color and have less black on their feet.
I thought I had two boys out of seven.View attachment 1711463.
Lucky me I got seven Pullets.View attachment 1711466.
I hope yours are Pullets too. GC
Beautiful birds and eggs!. The only thing with mine that you can’t tell from the picture is that the darker one is bigger than the lighter one. And the darker one has darker feet, the other one is lighter and has slate/somewhat yellow ‍♀️

Yeah, I have two that are lighter in color. I thought they were boys.
Some of mine have more black on their feet than others. All I can say is wait and see. I know it's hard, but if I got rid of my two lighter chicks, I would only have five girls. Keep your fingers crossed. GC
