P.S. My daughter just got hired as a nurse at Mountain Home VA and is moving back to East Tennessee with her family in December.
So I have to have some chickens for my granddaughter who is in the 1st grade.
She has been a chicken wrangler since she has been able to walk and loves them.

Hello, everybody.
I was on this site in the past, but because of family situations and work I had to drop off the map for a while.
My wife and I live between Jonesborough and Johnson City on 11 1/2 acres, out in Washington County.
I have an 8X8 coop with a 28 foot run.
All was fine and...
Hey y'all.
Sorry I've been gone but it's deer season.
But during my absence I've attempted to do good by poultry.
The other morning I had just walked to the house from a morning hunt on the property, had taken my boots and jacket off, unloaded my rifle and had set down to enjoy a cup of...
I got a reply today from someone at Washington Farmers Coop, when I got up and checked my email.
Quote:
I wrote back and told them I would bring the bad sack back in tomorrow when I get up off of night shift.
Hopefully they will clean their act up and it will benefit every one in the...
I was a Southern States Coop store manager in Mebane NC for 5 years from 86 to 91.
If one of our feed mills was cranking out crap like I've seen in this sack, I would have drove to Durham and throttled the Feed Mill manager for the lack of any quality control.
You are only as good as the...
I am Peed-Oed at Tennessee Farmer Coop over feed quaility.
I thought I would give them a shot at layer pellets.
The 1st sack that I fed out was good and they laid well on it.
The 2nd sack is 1/3 fines.
It doesn't do well in my 10 pound feeder and the hens don't like fines.
Fines=dust...
Sorry I haven't been on here all week.
Joy and I flew out to Southern Calif, to see the grand baby.
My son is stationed at Camp Pendleton.
Hopefully I can catch up on all I missed while I was gone.
It is good to see green grass and trees again with out the aid of irrigation.
I have two white leghorn pullets that were laying every day and now both have gone broody one me.
I didn't know that leghorns would set on a nest.
These sure have.
We used it inside a deer camp "cabin" ( my wife Joy called it a shack) and it worked well for us.
The only thing that I may watch out for is direct strong winds.
In that case I would cover the blue board with some type of plywood or more a sturdy material.
