I remember if I had a bad day at school, when I lived with my mom, and I would come home and grab the cat and sit on my bed... now if I grab my cat I give poison ivy to the hubby!

Well my 8 month old production red hatched out 5 chicks which are half bcm. Its nice to see a hen running around looking after her babies. They free range and it reminds me when I was a kid at my grandfathers with all his chickens.

I like to watch them teach the babies things... my favorite is flying bugs. Too cute!

It would be nice if everyone could come, but we all know things come up.
We have A LOT of new faces on here and would like to get a chance to meet everyone.
It is nice to be able to put a face to the screen name.
Don't forget, kids and toleraters (spouses) are ALWAYS welcome.

I am on 7 off during that time period, so either day would be fine with me, if they don't stick me with overtime, like they did the last meeting,

As far as my kinda snotty hen goes: misted with Oxine last night while on perch (husband forgot the humidifier). I checked on her this morning & she was not snotty at all. I just checked her & she seems fine: beak is clear (will check better later). The way I view it is: all 6 in the pen have already been exposed to whatever this is, she is not acting very sick and only time will tell what it is if anything. I am not opposed to culling but will not cull until I determine it is necessary. If it came to it I would cull my entire flock & start over but that's just me. I like my clucks & they are pets but they are not the same as my inside pets. Do not mean to offend anyone who has a different view of theirs this is just my view of mine. One final note: if it is anything serious I will let you know & I will not come in contact with anyone for fear of passing it on.

As to the previous posts about pets: I too feel sorry for people who can not have pets because to me they are my chill pills.
