Hi, Gang! Haven't been on BYC in ages, so you know the first place to check out had to be GrannyHatchet's thread! Granny, hope you are well. I stopped getting email notices etc and got busy with other things and next thing you know it's over a year? since popping in.
Hi, CSolis! :frow...
Just stumbled onto this thread. Very exciting if you have managed to resurrect this variety of chicken! :jumpyCongrats! I hope someone posts a pic soon. Not sure what my chances are of ever getting to meet them in person.
This has got me wondering . . . Would this type have been widespread...
Oops, better get to bed. I LOVE when they push the clocks ahead, even though we lose the hour, but since we lost the hour, it will catch up when least expected.
Cheers, All! :frow
Busy. Should have gone to bed but you know how it is. . . Finally got Fios last month and my brother was having trouble hooking up the laptop so he said why don`t I just get a chromebook and so I did. So now I can :frow:pop:caf anytime. Have been looking at a lot of Youtube but made the...

If TSC gets a store in my area it`s going to be very tempting to give them my business instead of the feed store that`s been around for more than a half century.
Pretty much everything I know about border collies and herding is from reading Nop`s Trials by Donald McCaig. Great story and lots of info about how border collies work. He mentioned something about brace? (it`s been ages so I may misremember the term) dogs that learn the opposite command so...
The remedy I was told about 40 years ago was to put a piece of sod in with them. Always works for us. They peck the grass instead of each other. If they were out with Momma they`d be pecking and pulling on everything but options limited in a brooder, so 1 or 2 of them substitute mates` eyes...
How exciting for you! It seems a very personal issue though. In my experience my animals have always sort of told me their names, as in I had to meet them and sometimes even have them for a bit to know what the best name would be.
Good luck!
Hi! I go to Davis in Rushland. That`s maybe a half hour or so from me. Perkasie would be too much of a hike to go pretty much every weekend (which I do).
Thanks for the tip about Pickering Valley. Might have to check them out if I`m feeling ambitious.
And hello to dheltzel and Auroradream26...
Ooooh, okay, couldn`t remember if I ever heard of these so just looked them up. That one page full of photos. . . They look Photoshopped or something! I can see why so many people want them. They are really special. Upside to being so broody I guess is you get a lot of them, but downside is...
Talk me into? As in what breed(s)? I`m up for suggestions. It`s probably time for an infusion of young blood this year anyway. I go to Davis Feed Mill in Rushland, Bucks Co. One used to be able to get all kinds of cool birds like chukar, bobwhite (I think) quail, wild turkeys, ringneck...
