i have two hens ive incubated and hand reared one blue Orpington and a wyandotte now 6 months old but not got fully developed combs or wattles yet where as my 3 hybrids were laying at 18 weeks do pure breeds take significantly longer to mature ?

I am incubating 6 red partridge silkies eggs ..my first attempt at incubation ..interesting that your rooster is not noisy ..might be inclined to keep one if I get a hatchling ..so far I only have 4 hybrid s which I bought as 12 week olds

Unfortunately Mean Mabel the Barnvelder just got meaner ...making the two hybirids bleed so ...shes gone .I manage to part -ex her for two more hybrids all in same coop tonight four hybrids and remaining barnvelder ..so fingers crossed for hen harmony in the morning

New Girl ..just today let my very first 4 hen flock out for supervised free range .The pol barnvelders have been confined separate but within view hearing and smell of the 2 hybrid pullets at first ok then after a couple of hours freeranging dominant barnvelder was really going for one...
