I have a pair of guinea fowl, and the male has been laying down quite a bit. He was causing trouble so I put him in a hutch inside the run for the past 2 weeks. I let him and his mate freerange every night. But I noticed that when I let him out he walked around and just laid down. Not sunning or...
Thanks for all your advice! I got them. I kept them in a large bunny hutch inside the chicken run for a week and a half. Last night I let them out in the run and the guinea hen just went up to roost with the chickens. No problem. But the guinea cock was still in the bottom quite confused so I...
OK that makes sense! Yeah the seller said they just turned a year old. But my birds have never seen a guinea fowl in their life. LOL
So I'm still just not sure... And do they just eat chicken food? And will they use nesting boxes?
So i dont have a big barn/coop but i have a large run I built connected to said coop. Should I just throw them in with the chickens or quarter them off for the first week or so?

I got 4 EE chicks plus some others sexed as pullets this spring and now Im not so sure about one of the EE's.....
I wasnt really sure about sexing EE's by color either, but I do believe this is a more rooster color?
I mean i really hope not because I have a Roo and already got rid of one this...
I have 16 week old pullets and my dad mistakenly got reg layer pellets instead of chick food. *___* Is it ok for them to have it? I know it's bad for especially young birds because of calcium, but they are almost laying age. I have them in with my adult birds so they have been on chick feed too.
