Thanks for the replies!
I assume most of them lay throughout the night, I let them out at 7am and usually only one duck is still nesting and the others are done (I have 7 layers)
I did a quick glance at her vent and it was dilated a bit which is expected but will definitely do another look again...
Tonight when I went out to close up the coop, I walked in on one of my females was jerking back and forward with her head down towards her body. It looked like she was having a seizure or choking so I was checking her out but then she just dropped an egg right on my lap. She seemed really dazed...
Hi! As in the picture, I found this on the bottom of one of my drakes feet but I'm having a hard time figuring out what is wrong, whether it's frostbite or bumblefoot. I found that other ducks in the flock also developed these pale pressure point marks on their feet so I assumed it was normal...
Hi! I have this one female duck that has some odd-placed feathers and I can't tell if it's because of her height or if its something else like angel wing.
She has always been the shortest and her wings are a little bit longer than her body so I thought her feathers were forced to grow a little...
I'm not sure on their exact age or if they were raised together but I bought them off of someone who didn't want to keep their birds anymore, all 4 goldens were already housed together when I bought them
Hi, I tried looking this up but couldn't find anything so I apologize if there are threads like this.
I'm just starting to get into birds and I have a few pheasants and I reached a dilemma. I had a pair of red golden pheasants and the female unfortunately passed away due to predator and the...
most likely not... I was lucky to cross paths with an avian vet when my other duck was at its worse but I don't have access to one for this duck unfortunately
I was able to recover a video of her walking a week ago when the slight limp started. I found an old phone that works so hopefully ill get a new video of her once they wake up from their nap
(It's the leg with the blue band - her right leg)
I dropped my phone in their pool yesterday so it might take some time till I can get a video. The best way I could describe it like a soldier marching when they kick their legs straight out and her body is slanted to one side from holding her heel up
So I've been giving her liquid b complex for about 6 days now but I haven't noticed any changes, she still has her slight limp and still holds her foot up while walking/standing. But thankfully it doesn't seem to be getting worse. Should I keep up with the vit B or could this be something else...
Here are some photos from today. She starting to get a slight limp but can still walk and run around with the other ducks. Couldn't find any thorns or cuts so I'll definitely try the vit b complex thanks for the suggestion
I'll pick up some and give it a try. Should i stop/lower the niacin dose while giving this?
A few months ago i came in contact with an avian vet about the other duck and it has more of an issue with how its hip formed in the egg so i don't think these cases are related
Thanks for the replies! I have another duck in the flock with permanent leg problem so ive been adding niacin for awhile. I wasn't able to find any nutri-drip near me but ive read that baby poly-vi-sol works too so also been adding that but lately decreased the dose as they got older. As for...
