I think my light Sussex is laying 2 eggs a day fairly regularly but one of the two is always soft shelled, I'm only guessing its the light Sussex as the eggs seem similar shapes/sizes, I have a broody auracana who could be laying the soft shelled eggs but I thought broody hens stop laying? And...
4 from 3 birds.... One was soft shelled, my light Sussex doesn't have a day off laying don't know if I should be worried but then again I can't stop her laying!

Fresh eggs are harder to peel the membrane sticks to the shell and white and it gets messy. Leave your fresh eggs for a day or two and they'll peel easier.... Normally :-/

That's great, my other three all hit the ground running with there eggs. Laying decent sized and haven't really missed a day since they started some months ago especially the light Sussex can only remember her having a break twice in about 6 months!
