    How to apply anti-pick liquid?

Does anyone have any idea of how to apply it? I don't want to apply it wrong and end up harming my chickens.

    How to apply anti-pick liquid?

I've noticed that one of my Faverolle's is following and pecking one of the Ameracauana's butt (all are pullets). I purchased some Stop-Pick-Liquid by domvet to apply to the Aracauna's rear end. How exactly do you apply it though? Are you just supposed to squirt it on their feathers? Are you...

    Will beer kill chickens?

It was just a sip or two... Glad to hear it won't cause long term harm.

    Will beer kill chickens?

I have recently gotten chickens and our family has been really enjoying them. However, as part of "bonding" (without my knowledge), a family member shared some of his beer with one of the chickens! Will beer severly harm/kill chickens? Thanks for your input, I know this a crazy dilema.

Will 10 week old pullets still be friendly?

Also, will all chickens eat treats? I know not all chickens will like the same thing but they will eat some treats, right? That sounds kinda stupid but I have a cat who refuses to eat anything but cat food (not even shrimp!).

Will 10 week old pullets still be friendly?

If the breeder did handle them, will it make a huge difference to their friendliness if I get them as chicks or as 10 week olds?

Will 10 week old pullets still be friendly?

I am a first time chicken owner. I want chickens for pets and to lay eggs. I have found a breeder that has the breeds I want (Australops, Salmon Favorelles and EE's) and I can buy them as sexed pullets. However, by the time I am able to get them they will be anywhere from 8-11 1/2 weeks old (...

What age to get chicks-for newbie?

I am a first time chicken owner, and I would really love to have a few rare breed chickens before next spring. The earliest that the coop, yard etc will be ready is June 1st (it's a long story). The breeder I am hoping to get from seems to be flexible (according to their website). I can get...

What do you think of these breeds for a newbie?

I have almost decided which ones I would like: 3 EE's 3 Australops 2 Salmon Favorelles 2 Buff Orpingtons or Barred Rock I just can't decide whether to get 2 buff orpingtons or 2 barred rocks. I live in quite a cold climate, so would one be better then the other? A breeders page who is 6 hours...

What do you think of these breeds for a newbie?

But all of your other breed seem like reasonable choices too, although remember that silkies will not be able to roost with the other birds and some people have had injury problems mixing silkies and LF so if you are going to omit one breed I think that's probably the one to lose. From...

What do you think of these breeds for a newbie?

Thank you so much for your replies! They are so valuble and helpful! I think I have figured out my list (though I will probably end up revising it). I am trying to figure out approximately how many eggs I may get per day (so then I can determine per week and figure out who would be intrested in...

What do you think of these breeds for a newbie?

Our family just bought an acreage and we will hopefully have chickens by June! What have your experiences been with these breeds? Would you reccomend them to new chicken owners? Also, we are just looking to have egg/pet chickens (don't want them for meat). Easter Egger-would like them because...
