I agree. It's good that the water is warm but the air outside is still cooler. That is cooling it off not the water. Don't make any adjustments unless it stays cool. This is also why you don't open it between day 18-21. It lets the warm, humid air out and the cool dry air in. Good...
When I increase the humidity (add water) the temp drops. I am using warm/hot water. Is it important to maintain a constant temp after water is added thru out the hatch. I am especially concerned about day18 thru 21. I don't think I should be adjusting the heat thru the hatch. Is the drop in...
I am doing the same thing myself. (fenced run and garden) I also have a vegetable garden that I feed whatever I have to much of. I am going to try sunflowers and corn for the winter months.
william9792 I see your on here allot. Thanks for the fast reply. This is my first hatch so I don't know what to expect. What hatch rate can I expect to get with a still air bator compared to a bator with a fan.
Thanks,
How long can you leave a chick in the bator before I pull them out. I am on day 20 of my first hatch. I had 3 hatch yesterday/ last night and I had 3 hatch today. I know I shouldn't open the lid but I know the dry chicks need to come out some time.
Thanks,

Mine are due on the 5th but I had 4 hatch last night and 3 more starting to come out. How long should I leave the chicks in the bator. I know I shouldn't open the lid but since I had some hatch early I can't leave them in there for the remainder of the hatch.
Mine are due to hatch on the 5th. I'm not to optomistic. It's my first hatch and I'm sure I did something wrong. I'm a nervous wreck. On day 18 I added water and a spong. The temp droped to around 95 overnight. I don't have a hygrometer yet so I am flying blind on this first hatch. I hope...
This is my first hatch and I am at day 20. At day 18 I removed the turner and placed the eggs on the wire grid. In the future should I use eggs cartons to keep the eggs in the right position or will they be OK on the wire grid.
Thanks in advance for the advice. I'm sure I will have more...
I am new to this (first hatch in progress, day 17)and I am wondering if the forced air add on is worth getting. If so what is the advantage and what temp and humidity should I maintain.
