Anybody hatching around March 7th? PICS page 9,18

Is your incubator a forced air bator? My incubator is, but my hatcher (a hovabator 1602n) is a still air, so the sponge stays wet. I move the eggs to the hatcher tonight.

I'm 'due' on the 5th, and I'm also having trouble keeping the humidity up - I'm trying to keep it above 60%, but it's so hard! I have a Brower tophatch, and only have one hole open, the water trays are full, temp is 99.5-100 degrees, and I've got 5 sponges in there soaked with water. I use a syringe I got from my dentists office to squirt water onto the sponges without opening the top, but it's still hard to keep that humididty up - anyone have a better idea? I've heard of people misting water in with a sprayer... maybe I should do that? I'm freaking out because I'm on day 19, and don't want all of my babies to die.... I've got 14 developing chicks in there!

Mine are due to hatch on the 5th. I'm not to optomistic. It's my first hatch and I'm sure I did something wrong. I'm a nervous wreck. On day 18 I added water and a spong. The temp droped to around 95 overnight. I don't have a hygrometer yet so I am flying blind on this first hatch. I hope everything is OK. I'll be better prepared for the next hatch.

Maybe close the vent hole. I dont open the vent in my hovabator until a chick hatches. Then I only open it halfway.

I have 2 pairs of Self Blue Old English bantams from 2 different lines, that I bought a the cobleskill ny show, and the show in springfield mass. I have some eggs from both of them in the incubator. So I took a piece of 1/4" hardwire cloth and ran it down the bator, so the chicks dont get mixed up.

I put them in on 11:50am, so at 11:50am today will be day 18. Im going to move them to the hatcher later tonight. (i needed to write down the time cause i keep forgetting what time i put them in,lol)

I also have some black breasted red oegb eggs in the incubator. I hope they hatch. Last time I only had 1, and it never pipped.

Clinkennuts: I think your chicks will be fine. 95 isnt too low, and that should not have killed them.

Thanks, Sundown! I'll try covering that vent hole - there isn't a plug for it, I think it's supposed to be open all the time for air flow - it didn't come with a plug for all 4 holes, just 3. Anyway, I'm going to cover it and then I'll see if that helps... then I'll open the plugs if/when they start to hatch out! I'm nervous that all of this work isn't going to work! I can't wait to see one pip - I keep going down to check on them, but it's only day 19 - LOL! (that's too early right?) I've got 10 EEs, 2 frizzle fleur D'uccle, one Polish, and one Gold Comet, I hope to see at least 50% hatch!!!
