My hen has this wet black butt. No funky smells that I can tell. She is also molting pretty hard. Is this normal poopy butt or something more? I've never seen it look so wet.
I have an olive egger who will be a year old in 2 weeks. I noticed she is losing feathers above her tail the past couple days. I checked for lice/mites and don't see any. We also don't have any roosters. Is this her molting?
This is my first time with chickens so I literally have no idea what I'm feeling for. I don't know how to help her. I did change their feed a couple days ago to the Full Plume feed as about 1/3 of my flock is molting. Could the jump from 17% protein to the 20% and whatever else the feed has in...
She was fine up until this morning. They do not free range.
I am located in Coastal NOrth Carolina. USA.
She is unable to really stand. She kind of flops over.
Her eyes open occasionally. She has eaten a small amount and drank briefly.
I gave her a warm bath and blow dried her. This is...
I apologize. She was lying down in this position. She is laying eggs. I believe she did so yesterday. Her shells are always nice and hard.
She is not currently molting. I have not seen any bloody poop in the coop or run. No discharge either.
Her crop feels empty. I don't feel any hardness. She is laying and vent doesn't looked prolapse. I checked her for mites/lice and don't see any. She has water and cooked eggs but only is nibbling/sipping here and there. She is not standing or walking. No injuries to her feet
I found this chicken laying in this position, below the roosting bars, this morning. I go to pick her up and she stays in this position. She is now inside. I have no idea what's wrong. She was completely fine last night
We have. 5 month old Indian runner who has started challenging my kids and even us adults. He will run at you with his bill open and has bit my husband and son today when they were putting them up. We have 2 females and 1 male. I don't believe they've started mating.
What can I do to stop this...
