I got these two ducks back in march, and discovered a niacin deficiency in both of them 3 months ago. They are 16-17 weeks at the moment and I gave them a vitamin B-3 supplement 3 months ago (the durvet liquid one at TSC) i have used about half the 250ml bottle and one duck seems to be alright...
Its near the vent as well, I just took a general picture of the bald spot not the vent. Should I post a picture of the vent as well? I was leaning on the ground and taking a picture upside down, so it was kinda hard for me to take a good picture without it moving away or sitting back down.
My duck is almost 8 weeks old, and recently, I noticed a bald spot near my duck’s vent. I have 2 ducks that I got from TSC, but one of them seems normal while this one has a bald vent. Otherwise, they can eat, drink, walk, and swim fine. Please help!
I dropped the contact solution after seeing the oily tears. I searched it up beforehand, but I think I misunderstood what people were referring contact lens solution for.
@Miss Lydia Update: We just went to TSC and got the vitamin b supplement so we cancelled the online order. However they did not have the eye ointment so we couldn’t get it. Quick question, whats the best way to feed them this liquid supplement?
I might be able to get the Veterycin ointment. Though, whats the difference between the wash and the gel, since they both have different prices? The green poop from the sick duck suddenly started appearing again and it is still quite stone-like in the brooder. However the other duck seems lively...
One of my 4 week old duckling starting "tearing". The clear droplets were oily, and would dry up and leave a sticky crust around my duckling's eye. I began to see the same thing in my other duckling's eye but it is not as severe and does not leave a prominent crusty dry area around the eye. I...
Alright, then I will try to get the liquid B complex. I separated the ducklings because I didn’t want the healthy duckling to eat all the food before the other one gets in the mood to eat by itself. Plus, the healthy duckling would keep jabbing the sick one’s eye. They’re both in fairly large...
I have been mostly using niacin tablets and once in awhile a b-complex tablet in their water. The healthier one would walk, but very poorly, I would try to get the sick one to walk, but when I pulled it up, it would stand for a minute and sit back down. As for the brooder, they get so big, I had...
Last night I made sure that the duckling wasn't sitting on any poop, and when I went to check on them this morning, the duckling hardly even pooped. Otherwise, he/she almost never moves, they just sit there like a stone. It did eat when I held the food bowl up to its beak so I would switch...
This is at his/her rear close to their tail feathers underneath the duck.
There is another issue, the duck’s eyes started “tearing”. Clear droplets formed and when I touched them, it felt oily.
