I got these about 2 months ago. Keep them in anbopen area so other chickens could set them. My rooster would run up and try to peck them through the fence. He still runs them off from food. I have to stand guard until they are through eating. Thanks
I heard at our local farm store that you could feed alfalfa to chickens. I went to pet store and got a bag for guinea pigs. This stuff is very dry, will the chickens eat like that or should I soak it in water?
This is my first Langshan and she is so funny to watch! I just lost one of my bufforph. so I am looking to replace and add to my flock of 4. I think I will purchase three more of the Langshan's. They are very regal.
When the other was showing signs if uri I was told to put all on antibiotics. She is not on anything at present. She and Ethel were the dominate two but she seems much less the alpha chicken. In fact the langshan is showing to be the alpha chicken. Just do not want to loose another sweetie...
I have a buff that just stands in a corner of the coop. she is not interested in fresh grass I try to give her. she is not very active. I did have one die during the icy conditions with uri but all have. een on antibiotics for 5 days.:(:(:(:(
