How funny! I have one named Penguin because her markings made her look like one. She is such a sweet chicken. We also have another Sapphire Gem. Pretty sure it is a he (husband is still holding out hope). His name is Bleuregard.
Picture 1- Penguin is about 3 weeks old
Picture 2-She is 4 weeks...
I got some Sienna Stars at the beginning of August. We are calling them our wild children. They were the first to escape the brooder, and would flap about when we were handling them. They have not shown any aggression, though.
They are the brown ones in the picture and about 7 weeks old there.
Hi guys! I am relatively new to chicken raising and I have a question about one of my chickens. I have a 13 week old barred rock (likely not pure bred). Her earlobes were white when she was younger and now they are turning pink/red. Is this normal? Could it be infected? (We did recently...
Not sure of cross. I got her from Tractor Supply. The worker said a "broiler rock" but I just figured he meant barred rock.
She may also appear very yellow because I had just cleaned off her legs.
I posted these a few weeks ago. These two are now about 7 weeks old. Can anyone sex them? I have some notions but want others to try.

One has a rose comb and one has a single comb. It doesn't really matter what they are......we just having fun raising our first set of chicks and hope to possibly get some eggs eventually.
What do you think they are? We bought them and was told they were blue laced red wyandottes. I think they may be a different type of laced but never thought they may not be wyandottes. They are starting to show some black and red lacing.
