I know this post was years and years ago, but I have a question, because I recently culled my hen that had these exact symptoms because I didn't have anywhere to keep her separated. Are worms contagious? What can I put in my flocks water or food that could help? One of the other posts mentioned...
I don't want to offend anybody, but I'm not going to spend a lot of time on this rooster; I have seven. He's still alive, but I'm not going to take him to the vet or anything like that. It's too much money... In the past, I've never had a problem with killing them off if they become to sick...
Yesterday, he was acting much better, but today he was extremely disoriented. He was stumbling and couldn't hold his head straight. I'm pretty sure he's going to die within a couple hours. I have no idea about what sickness he picked up. I'm just hoping now it's not contagious.
Is green poop a sign of starvation? One of my roosters is pooping green poop and will barely move from his spot... It doesn't look like he's eating anything or even drinking. Help?
Weeeell, I was actually planning on killing off my roosters today, because we have seven with 28 hens... I feel kinda bad about that but no one will take 'em and I'm not really willing to take the time to gut and dress them in this winter weather. But when I went out there, one of my four Barred...
I'd understand if they were older, but the girls aren't even a year old yet. That, and the fact that a couple of them started and then just stopped is just strange. And costly -_-
I don't have any predators. I know the signs and haven't ever had that problem for where I live. You're gonna have to trust me on this one.
I don't know what to do *cries in a corner*
Yeah, I've checked for hidden nests and the sort, but didn't find anything and even kept them confined in their coop for a couple days just to make sure. It's just a lot of money gone without anything in return. I'm trying to convince him to keep them 'till spring. I also want to try a light in...
I am so frustrated right now. I've raised chickens in the past and never had this problem before. May 16th, 2013 An order of 40 chicks came in. Now it's 11/9/2013 and I have no idea why they aren't laying. For about 2-3 weeks about two months ago, I had about five hens who were laying, and then...
I was clipping wings this morning, 9:00am with my wolf/german-shepherd dog by my side, when a red tailed hawk decides to swoop down and attempt an attack at my flock. Of course, being big-bad Momma Hen, I successfully chased it away But the fact is, I officially have a chicken hawk hanging...
