**Graphic image**WESTERN NORTH CAROLINA- What killed my runner duck overnight?

No, just my husband and myself. We live in a very wooded rural area. Nobody around us. I can’t imagine my own ducks doing this to one of their own? We’ve never had an incident like this and nothing has appeared on our cameras overnight since the incident. We are baffled.

**Graphic image**WESTERN NORTH CAROLINA- What killed my runner duck overnight?

I installed 2 Blink cameras inside/outside the coop to monitor any movement throughout the night. I’m super paranoid since this has happened. So far there’s been no activity, except my usual grey foxes passing by (which could not get into my coop, nor could a Racoon or other large mammel). I...

**Graphic image**WESTERN NORTH CAROLINA- What killed my runner duck overnight?

No gaps, cracks, or crevices in the wire and I have concrete floors. If something was lingering inside my coop beforehand I’d think my chickens would freak out and would sound the alarm (my birds are all housed together at night and are super vigilant). In western NC in the mountains I’m not...

**Graphic image**WESTERN NORTH CAROLINA- What killed my runner duck overnight?

Hey all, I’m located in the Asheville area of North Carolina. I have chickens and ducks that harmoniously grew up and live together in a large coop. I woke up this morning to discover my adult runner duck was dead in the corner of the coop. She had been violently ripped open, her backbone broken...

    Heated waterer?

I'll definitely look into this- thanks! They make such a mess with the smaller bowls that are designed for chickens.

    Heated waterer?

Can anyone recommend a large heated waterer that would be better suited for geese & ducks? Last winter I had such a challenging time with my geese splashing all the water out of my small heated chicken water bowl. Looking for other ideas for this winter....something maybe that holds more...

Anyone near Volusia County, FL? I am in search of an adult hen duck for my Indian runner duck hen...she recently lost her sister and is quite lonely. I’m open to different breeds.

Review by '' on item 'Indian Runner'

I love my runner ducks. They come in a variety of colors and walk upright like a penguin. They look like bowling pins in my yard and forage for bugs all day long. They enjoy playing in a kiddie pool and are incredibly friendly and talkative. They are hardy birds and continuously produce...

My duck isn’t eating and poops bright green

That’s so sad. I fully support rescuing animals whenever possible. I hate going through breeders. Did you end up taking your birds to a vet to get checked for diseases?

My duck isn’t eating and poops bright green

I’ve thought about it, but I’m concerned about bringing disease or illness into my coop by bringing in an outsider. Plus I don’t have the slightest idea on where to look for one. It seems like craigslist is full of poorly raised animals that people are trying to dump off and make $. Indian...

My duck isn’t eating and poops bright green

Maybelles sister is definitely lost without her. They were inseparable. Now she tries to keep up with the geese, but they really don’t want much to do with her. It’s sad to watch her in the yard. She just wants to hang with someone and they’re just not into her.
