learnt a new lesson today ........ my flock loves the rain! does your? POLL

Mine run for cover, usually under the trailer rain or snow I have to go out and get them in the coop. Sometimes carrying them as they don't want to get wet. So carry like a football bent over. My girls are girly girls. Lol

    Growing fodder for chickens

I feed my girls as much as they can eat as well as fruits and veggies cut up small for them. They jump when they know I have something for them. I grow fodder of wheat, black oil sunflower seeds, barley they love it. Winter they need these things.

    Chickens who HATE snow?

My girls don't have snow right now, it is ice. They walk very carefully and fall on their feathers. Poor Gobbles my turkey is just beside himself.

I was advised to use weak bleach solution also, it worked very well the girls had no problems at all.

    My New additions have grown

I don't plan on breeding Toby, if I get chicks it's cause they hid an egg :( . But he and the puppy play on occasion till he doesn't any more. Daisy thinks he is another puppy, go figure. I would be too sad if I had to get rid of Toby, he protects his girls inc the turkey with a vengeance.

    Growing fodder for chickens

I would say adult, so they can digest properly. I use it only as a supplement. They love it. Had to hand feed at first but no problem now.

    Chickens who HATE snow?

Poor things, I understand. We finially have good weather and I put the girls outside. They are still n the box inside since the coop flooded. Bertha comes to the back door to be put in the box to lay her egg. But, sympathies with the snow. Mine would rather walk in the mud outside than in snow...

They were just standing there not moving, I had to pick them up and put them in the coop. They were so happy to be warm and dry. I let them out for...
