No it never ends. I have 7 broody silkies right now. Five are in broody jail and 2 are sitting on eggs. I also have 2 mottled houdans who are in broody jail right now.

Our entire flock will come running if we yell CHICKENS. My kids trained one of them to come by name and they will go bug hunting together. They taught another one to jump onto things when they snap.

House chickens! My kids and I would love that but my husband and dogs would not allow it. How do you manage the poop?

I feed all my chickens of all ages and genders organic starter/grower and I keep an extra feeder with oyster shells. I found the hens need the extra protein. I do not know if the medicated part is bad for them. I keep my chickens as organic as possible so I have never fed them medicated feed.

I have 2 roos and 44 hens but the roos are only with them a couple of hours a few times a week while they are free ranging and supervised. I am having the same problem but some of mine are missing feathers on the to of their necks. It is very strange. Does anyone know what could be going on?

Have you phone video going when you crack it. There is a slim chance you could have an egg within an egg. :celebrate

I have a chicken with a toe that is folded in and she has zero problems. She is almost 2 years old.

I have had this happen before. Usually a soft shell or hard shell will break and the hens will eat the shell before I collect the eggs so I am left with a few intact messy eggs.

I have 39 hens. A mixture of great layers and fun and funkies. I get between 27-32 per day. :) :cool:

It is tough! I pay a friend to come twice a day. We have chickens, cats, fish and reptiles. We also have two dogs but they go to the kennel.

This is what I do. I pick up the roo and carry him around. It is helping so far.
