    Help with Breed ID

    We're very new to this chicken thing - we purchased a "rainbow pack" from a breeder and were guaranteed at least 5 varieties. Can you help us identify the possibilities? The chicks are about a month old now - and they are definitely taking on new colors/textures...

    Breed Identification

    We ordered a "rainbow pack" of chicks from the hatchery. It's been so much fun watching them grow over the past month. We're very curious now, as their feathers start to come in, what breeds we might have. We were guaranteed to have at least 5 varieties. There are some pictures here...

    Homemade Chick Feed

    We're getting brand new chicks early this week. We have some chicken scratch. What do we need to add to this for their first few days till I can get to the big city and buy them real food from the store?

    chicks hatched - how long till eggs?

    We just got a family of chickens (rooster, hen, 6 chicks). I believe the chickens are a couple of weeks old. How long till the hen (the mommy) will start laying eggs again? Do we need to do anything for her between now and then (or after?) Thanks new chick on the block
