This hen has been broody most of the summer. Finally let her hatch some. 7 liege chicks. The size difference is crazy, not convinced that she won’t crush them with her giant feet, we shall see!

I had 2 Bruges fighter chicks with the chipmunk stripes. I had not seen any liege that color yet, I will take some pictures of my Bruges now that they are getting bigger. Anyone have any chicks/mature birds that were this color? Where did you get them Dn?

Very unique looking! His big beak looks like it belongs on someone else lol! He’s neat! I’m brand new to call ducks/ducks in general, so hopefully someone else in here can help you identify the look!

The silver drakes are getting darker. All 3 boys have their curls. Will the silver drakes continue to change in color? One almost looks like his entire head is getting darker. The other one is also but not as prominently. I’m guessing I’ll need to get rid of some drakes :(

Updated picture. They’re looking about the same. The blue bibbed drake has a little brown on his breast. The silvers are getting a little darker. I think they’re so cool! Can’t wait to diversify and add to my flock.

i think it’s probably on par for pet-quality birds. I see them for $50 or less pretty much everywhere.

Some updated pics about 2 weeks since my first post. Mostly the same, silvers are getting a little more color on them.

Not really aggressive at all They just all pile into that one nest and accidentally break any eggs I try to give. Started with one of the black ones, can’t seem to get a couple of them off the nest. I’ve separated them into different cages for a couple of days etc.

My liege hens have been particularly broody. Anyone else notice the same? Going to offer them some chicks from the feed store soon I guess.
