I would separate them. Try to use something that keeps them apart but able to see each other... hardware cloth...

Zip ties! They are cheap, flexible, and easy to use.... and easy to remove with a sturdy pair of scissors.

Mine love tomato, broccoli, peas, lettuce.... basically everything that you want, they want too!

It is cute! It might be a "mutt". It happens at feed stores... when a chicken expresses a gene that has been dormant for a long time but came from long ago... I have a wyandotte hen with a full comb! Obviously that isn't supposed to happen... but it did! It also looks like a buff...
