Oh, I don't think it matters. I mean, it has nothing to do with the quality and flavor of the egg, does it? We just want tasty fresh eggs and chickens that can tolerate our learning curve. :)
We are new to the world of owning chickens, so we know nothing about them. We'd like to start out simple. We just want 3-4 hens that are good for laying eggs. No roosters, no breeding, no raising chicks. Because we're new to owning chickens we'd like to start with a hardy breed that easy to care...
We have a lot of coyotes around here. We have seen them wandering right through our yard. Is there a good, sturdy coyote-proof coop design? We don't have any chickens yet but we'd like to get some for egg-laying, probably just 3-4 hens. No roosters, no breeding.
I like to paint animals and birds so I went to a local farm and took some photos of chickens to paint. But I know nothing about chickens so I have no idea what kinds these are. I would like to be able to name them in my painting descriptions.
I tried to look around online but it's hard to find...
