I ended up with both. That one was a roo. I had no issues with being mean but lost them all in Hurricane Sally. I have new ones now because I fell for the breed.
I have searched and cannot find info on outcomes of crossing Coronation Sussex rooster to Speckled sussex hen. I wouldn't expect much from the F1 generation, but am wondering about porcelain at F2 and beyond?
We are at 6 babies this morning. 3 eggs left. Sister hen is a week behind but going strong w 4 eggs. Poe also decided to start acting broody yesterday. We will see if she keeps it up.
She a LF Rhode Island Red. She could have more but as a first timer, I wanted to make it a little easier. Her sister, another RIR, had swiped and was trying to sit on about 19. I pulled all but the 5 olive eggers.

I got these 5 chicks in a rainbow layer assortment. I think, with the help of a Facebook group, they are Wheaton Marans. I’d love feedback. Are they wheaten? Pullets? If I don’t keep them all, which are the more correct?
I am from south Alabama and see available ducks regularly in the farm and poultry groups on Facebook. I know I saw a few this Welsh Harlequins this week.

if you can’t foster, consider volunteering. Instead of working with 1 foster, help many. Check with local organizations about additional ways to help, by walking, training, leaning, etc.
