I know it has been a bit, but I just wanted to update. Her eyes have healed up nicely, just some feather loss around them which I am sure will come back with her next molt.
So for an update, we have been applying a compress and applying neosporin and she seems to be slowly improving. She can see motion above her head at least but cant really see the ground as she has to root around to find food and water. I am hopeful that as the swelling around her eyes goes down...
It looks like both eyes are intact. We did a warm compress and got some of the crust off and put some neosporin around them, we are going to do another round of hot compress in the morning.
We have 2 to many drakes. I have intended on harvesting the extras but I haven't had the time. Most of our drakes are pekins, had a bad draw from the TS duckling bin. We ere hoping for more hens.
My wife noticed this morning that our runner duck's eyes are all crusted over and her beak looks like it is flaking. We have her separated from the rest of the flock. Any ideas, we are new to ducks.
