    Red or Buff Cochin?

I got a red cochin for my daughter, it's now 3 weeks old and it's not looking so red? I think it may be a buff or maybe they get darker as they age? Any thoughts? , Thanks.

Week old chick picked on, bloody toes now very lethargic! Help

Thank you! She was up running around this morning like her old self, peeping, eating and drinking!! I went and got the electrolyte/vitamin mix anyway just to be safe. I really thought she wasn't going to make it last night, I guess she just needed a good night's sleep! Here is a pic of her...

Baby chick almost Drowned Will it make it?

I would think that since you got to it right away and it's breathing okay now it should be fine. It doesn't sound like it wasn't breathing for very long until you got to it. As long as you dry it and warm it up and make sure it as a heat lamp, I would think it should be fine. Good job doing...

I need help telling my chicks apart.

I have 3 chicks I seem to have mixed up. The first 2 pics are of the same chick and the the last 2 are each different chicks, I originally thought the top one was my speckled sussex, but now I think the lighter brown one is. I was hoping maybe someone could tell them apart for me. The 3...

Week old chick picked on, bloody toes now very lethargic! Help

Thank you. I added some sugar to the water and have been dipping her beak in to make her drink, still not eating that I have seen. I will go in the morning to get the electrolyte powder. Her little blue-laced red Wyandotte friend is doing a good job of cuddling with her :) I hope she makes it.

Thank You! I will get some of that tomorrow morning. I just peeked in on her and her head was up and seemed a little more alert than earlier so I hope she makes it through he night! I added some sugar to the water (1/2c. per 1 gallon) that was what I read on the Ideal website and have been...

Week old baby chick getting picked on, bleeding toes, now weak and lethargic! Help!

I have 6 pullets, one week old and doing great until this morning when I noticed my speckled sussex toes bleeding (one on each foot) and one appears to be broken. She was the smallest of them all from the beginning. Now she is very weak and lethargic. I cleaned her toes with soap/water and...

Slow white broilers from Welp Hatchery

Has anyone tried the Slow White Broilers from Welp Hatchery? It says they take longer to mature, but it sounds like they may live long enough to be able to reproduce. I'm thinking about breeding my own flock of Delawares, but maybe these would be an option. Anybody have any thoughts on these...
