Finished processing our cornish x yesterday

We processed starting at four weeks. We did some at four, five, seven, and then nine weeks of age. These pics are of the nine weekers. We were going to process at eight weeks but it was so windy and rainy that weekend that we had to wait until my husband was off work again.

We got ours from McMurray too. When we processed them younger than you see here (ie. at 4 and 5 weeks), we had all kinds of small feathers that were hard to pluck but this time we only had one bird with difficulty in plucking and we just skinned it in the end. They were nine weeks here.

Oh, That makes sense. Next time we will wait till 8 weeks and hopefully they won't have the small feathers. Thanks!

They turned out absolutely beautifully! I can't wait until next week now! Anyone who hits 5 pounds will head to freezer camp cut up as a fryer here...those pics you put up absolutely have me drooling! I can't wait to have a freezer full of chicken again and I am VERY jealous of how wonderful yours turned out!
