I am the worst quail mommy ever
Yesterday I accidentally did a big no no and left their cage open for three whole hours till checking on them. They're two and a half weeks old and love testing their wings so whenever I open the cage they'll hop around and try to get out of the door. I had to count them three times but was so... -

Well you might actually have to wait a few more days. Coturnix take around 18 days (so the day after tonmorow would be a pretty high chance) then you should probably give em another 2 days after that. I get what you mean though, I hade to wait 2 years just to get my quail :D But now I've got 10... -

Can you identify the colour of this Coturnix quail?

Salsan, well Bobwhites perfer height definetly, they need more sq feet on the ground as well compared to Coturnix (so they'd do fine with a small roof but need bigger cages. Bobwhites are more seasonal layers but A&Ms (They are from the coturnix quail variety) are more likely to lay all year especially with a light in the winter. I think bobs eggs might be a bit bigger but if you want eggs a lot and often. Go with A&M quail. (Also start laying in 6-8 weeks!) -

No, definetly not. It takes around 16 days for buttons to hatch but even then you want to probably wait another two days just in case. -

It's possible... but highly unlikely. You may want to check again with the genders. If you keep on getting two eggs it's probably two females. And as Quail Jailer said, Coturnix almost never go broody and if they do they will usually forget about it a few days later. You're gonna need a...
