are you sure about her age? From the pictures she looks lots younger than the other judging by comb and wattle sizes. She is an Orp. If you got them at a feed store then they could be weeks apart.

Unfortunately a lot of us have been there too. IMO you are doing the right thing. I would also try to get pictures or video of the offending dog(s) so that any damages that acquired do to the dog can be reimbursed by the owner.

I would remove it when you see that they have discovered the roost bar on a regular bases. If the hen gets used to laying in a floor corner then she may continue to use the spot and that is not good.
