Large lump on pullets back
Oh have a seven month old pullet with a very large bump on her back. It's just off center towards her right rear and covering about one third of her back. It seems to be getting bigger every day. Adding a light in not an immediate cure to the slowing down of egg laying caused but a change in natural light. My understanding is 15 hours of light a day for them to generate an egg a day as their body will allow. Fluctuations in light, protein, life cycle and such only assist in the function...- darkroo

She need grit in her craw to help grind up her feed so she can absorb it. I would also recommend some free choose calcium for her to make strong eggs. enjoy- darkroo

Thank you for your suggestions, but I think it is more a case of pay back than calcium deprived. They have free a choice calcium feeder available right next to their feeder.
