    Starting again.

I am so excited to be getting them. I have lots of plans about how to develop the run and run area over time. I have a swing to go up and plans for a gym. I have a small apple tree in the garden, which is planted too close to the garage. Once I cut it down I will put it in the run with some...

Hi NFC I am going to get 5 hybids. There isn't a lot choice around at the moment as we are getting to the end of the season for point of lay hens in the UK. Next batch will not be available until February. I am hoping to a range of different egg colours as I think my granddaughter will enjoy that.

12week old polish bantam with a twisted neck

I have a 12 week old polish bantam with a twisted neck. She has been to the vets and he said she could have had a knock on the head or a vitamin deficiency. She eats a mix of chick crumb and growers but hasn't had veg for a couple of weeks as we have been on holiday. The vet has given her three...

Whats the weirdest thing your chickens have eaten or tried to eat??

Mine try to eat my freckles, my wedding ring and one ate a scab off my daughters ankle. They also like my toes, the buttons on my shorts, my jean studs and beaded braclets.

    Special Treats!!

I save the cracked eggs to hard boil. I then mash the eggs with thier shell and feed them to my young Perkins. I give both the pekins and the hybrids a raw swede to keep them entertained. They also love cooked rice, couscous and spaghetti, grapes and any weeds or cuttings from the garden.

    Sexing polish chicks

Hi Remme and Nosiphochooks Thanks for responding. I agree the black and gold could be a roo and now you mention it the white's head feathers do look a little wild so could also be a roo. We do have another white who has more of a rounded hairstyle so hopefully that one is a girl. Really hoping...
