my hen is setting and mustve steped on an egg with a chick in it and killed it she moved off nest ..went to another box the eggs were cold when i saw them i put them back under her but was it to late did babies die ???
i tried candling i see nothing this is her 1st time and mine i have seen roo mate her how can i tell if they r fertile? shes on day 8 if there not fertile will she stop setting? i dont know if i should take eggs out or leave them please help!!!

tell him off?? i have seen him try to mate rir but she just runs away...well i thought she was setting on eggs but i just went out there and shes off of them and there cold so that means shes not sitting right?? he seems to not understand how excatly to mate from what i can see he is just a yr...
so i had 2 roosters silkie was the bottom rank so i got rid of other 2 bc i only want 1 rooster thats been 2 weeks ago hes not mating any of the hens and 1 has went broody does that mean her eggs r not fertilzed...why is he not mating them they r the same size as him but i didnt think size...
ok thanks yes there all full grown but nights were getting colder so thought they needed supplement heat i will get rid of that today ..its only been on 3 nights and them 3 nights no matter what time i look out there there up walking around and crowing ...
i think hatched in april but not sure got her him ths size is freindly but starting to act like bullly dosent crow but dosent even try to mate and isnt laying eggs the rooster will show him her whos boss only to that 1 ...
not great pics but with the coloring there supposed to be hens....also the last pic is this a roo he /she acts like a hen the roosters r freindly to it...and it dosent crow i deff think its a mix of something ....1st babies
