Chicken tender ...can you give me any advise?
I am wondering this....I think there is a possibility that the crop ruptured and may be leaking food out...if that is the case, when I cut her open the food will be outside the crop....so...after opening the crop, and getting the material...
Hi,
I have posted about my chicken in need of the crop surgery. I am looking for someone near queen creek arizona that would be willing to do this surgery with me. Anyone out there near me that has done this before?
Thank you!
Those of you that are doing this operation, can you help me through it?
Can you email me at [email protected] or [email protected]?
Where do you get the thread? the steril equiptment? the tools?
Im nervous but think this is my only choice right now.
THank yoU!
It happened to us too...almost got rid of the rooster...but I took the pecked one away and let her heal alone...now she rejoined the group and is okay. I cleaned the wound betadine.

the vet said he did not find styrofoam, but found some hay, rice, spoiled milk from the other days feeding, and lots and lots of grit...that is what the bean bag feeling was apparently...He also removed alot of fluid...Why would...
I signed a paper that said the cost may go up and if so I agree to pay. I am so upset. I cant believe how upsetting it is to watch an animal go through this. Its a chicken for gods sake! For years I ATE them...now Im crying over one. I never knew they had so much personality, and LOVED so much...
Okay, this morning I decided to take her to the vet. They said it would be $60 for the visit and $50 to remove the material in the crop...with a tube. So I said okay and took her in.
He just called and said they took an x-ray without asking($150) and found a rubbery thing in there that they...
I think you are right...she is really bad this morning..just so everyone else knows...a couple days ago I gave her rice, well cooked with milk. BIG MISTAKE! I thought it would help by letting some nutrients through...and it did...she perked up and had more energy than before...but NOW the left...
Crop still isnt getting smaller...she is so skinny. I dont know what to do...any other suggestions? I tried not feeding her for 24 hours...just offering water...and gave her olive oil this morning....nothing happened except now her poop is almost all water. Im afraid she is starving to death...
thank you for the advice. She is separated and living in our house. I have my office floor covered with plastic. She spends all her time sitting in my lap when I am working on the computer. She is so sweet!
I made a mash earlier, reading that milk would help her increase her water...
I moved to arizona in 03 and love it. I am near phoenix right now, but, like you, am looking for land to retire on. There is lots of it...and hauling water is a very common and quite popular option. There are wells in many of these deserts and the land is going fast. North, is a town called St...
Hi,
I have a young chicken...not yet laying....bought 7 chicks and now they are about two months old, maybe three. One of them appeared to have a full crop, more so than the others. Then she got her foot broken when a horse ran over her. We brought her in the house to heal...her foot is fine...
