ISO Home for quail in Southeast Michigan

Thanks! I just posted. Hopefully someone can figure it out with me. My work schedule is all over the place and I don't have a ton of free time to go around knocking on doors.

Michigan Thread - all are welcome!

Found this little one in my mom's backyard in Swartz Creek. Anyone know someone in the area that has quail?

ISO Home for quail in Southeast Michigan

I went and got it because I knew it would get eaten. My mom has already checked the neighborhood groups, as stated in my original post and no one is claiming it. It could be because they either aren't allowed to have them or think they aren't. Edit to add: I am not super comfortable with CL...

ISO Home for quail in Southeast Michigan

Hi, friends! I haven't been on BYC in a really long time after having to give up my flock. Now I need your help. My mom called me a few days ago after they found a quail in their suburban backyard while mowing the lawn. I don't know anything about quail, but it appears to be fully grown. Igt...

Hey everybody! This new format is weirding me out! Theron shot me an email the other day and said someone was wondering where I had been. Just wanted to let you guys know I'm still alive and kicking. After much debate, I've decided to get out of the poultry hobby. I love my birds but it's time...

    The Birds 1

Here is the view of the coop and run from the house. Not much to see there. This is our temporary setup. We will be building a 10x16 shed. The chickens will get the back 4'. We will then fence off the rear of the yard just in front of all the pine trees for their run. They'll have about 1,200...

Quote: Yours looks like a chihuahua/terrier mix. Or perhaps poodle instead of terrier. The poodle gives them that wiry look. Mine is a poodle/pug mix. she is about 15lbs and has very long legs. She got the pug underbite. Yours is cuter!

Olive, I knew you'd like the name. We named her that because when she was a pup she was infested with worms and emaciated. My husband said she looked like Olive Oil from Popeye. Theron, I'm so jealous of you! We NEED pics when you get your puppy! eta: your little dog reminds me of my dog Roxy.

Need your help! Hair dye question!

I really like the Clairol Radiance line. It's a demi-permanent and while the color choices are limited, I've had great results. It's not damaging and leaves hair shiny and covers gray well. I haven't used Wella since hair school because I wasn't a big fan of it. The regular Clairol line is good...

    Can you relate?

I can't. Say what you will about unsustainable hybridized laying strains, I NEVER have to buy eggs.

How long are eggs good outside?

Since it's winter and very cold where I live, I would say they're good until they freeze and explode! This time of year the eggs will be safe. I'd only worry about it when it's really hot out and then I'd still say they'd be alright for at least a day.
