Today I bought eggs and chicken feed. Ugh!

But, I love my girls......

I have rarely had that happen......but it has happened maybe twice since I've owned chickens. I've had chickens for four years now. I do light my coops for winter though....I think that makes a difference.

Plus, I'm a bit fickle.....After a period of time, I send the older hens off to a new owner, and then I get new chicks......I do one that is four years old, from my original three chicks, and another that is 3 years old--she's just such a character! LOL

I can't. Say what you will about unsustainable hybridized laying strains, I NEVER have to buy eggs.
