Are my hens becoming nervous because of this... or is it just me?

When I got rid of my roo, it took my girls 4 days to decide it was a 'good' thing.. They would not come out of the coop at first. They would stay on the roost until I removed them...I started to use a little treats... One of my Buff Orpington Hens took over as "Boss" and they have been just fine...

    blind hen laying!

I have a hen who ( I think) is blind. She rarely ever leaves the coop and when I place her out in the run, she walks around the fence edge until she finds the door. I wasn't sure why her eye site was bad I didn"t notice any damage anywhere-- She was about 2.5 yrs old when I realized she was...

I go once/twice a week--to take treats, food, give fresh water but the day to day care is being done by someone else.. Whe I went by Wed. I found one of my hens looking very thin and not...

I am not blaming the caregiver. They are my chickens and I should have been perpared to bring them w/ me... BUT I wish he had just told me --that he couldn't /wouldn't do it... But they are where they need to be.. and I will work hard to get them healthy..... Thank you for the responses.

    Rough Summer... Need help!

The temps have been high 90*-106*. Little rain. I have been letting someone else take care of my girls on a reg. basis and I have been cking on them once in a while...because we moved and haven't gotten the new coop done... They have mites, they might have worms, they look terrible, they haven't...

    Grass clippings

I found that the girls love the really short clippings. If it is over 3" high, I will double cut it, rake it and pour it in the run.. I don't use any chemicals on my garden or my yard so they get a little of everything..
