I also bred a barred maran with an isa brown hoping for darker brown eggs that if I get any barred hens could then be used for a darker sex linked olive egger.
I got a decent green/olive egg breeding a black breasted red Araucana rooster over a PBR hen. This gave me a sex linked light-medium(depending on lighting) olive egger chicks

Hi, I know this is a very old thread and doesn't look like op has been on in years. I'm crossing Araucana with Rir and I was curious what color egg variety op got.
I just had a hen go broody and I have eggs in incubators with 7 days and 14 days remaining.
My question is what temps do you let broody hens have chicks? Seems a little cold to me but I guess it depends on if she's a good mom or not?
