    Vertercyn for wound care

Thank you for a speedy response.. we installed 4 ventilation caps on the top by the rafters this fall. But I should not have left waterer in coop. That must have been what caused moisture.

    Poultry Protector in the winter?

Thanks Thank you for your thoughtful response. I was able to reach the Pro Mana company and was advised not to use the spray on the chicks in the winter. I've checked their vent feathers for obvious signs of parasites but nothing showed based on what I've been told to look for. I'll be going...

    Poultry Protector in the winter?

I live in Connecticut and it looks like my chicks may have parasites (mites, lice) . I've notice dirty vent feathers and pale combs. Can I spray my chickens with Poultry Protector in the winter? I'm worried about frostbite.

    Winter Mites

Is it safe to spray birds with a product like Elector PSP in the winter? I worry about getting their feathers and skin wet during the cold.

    Comb question

I am worried about the color and the quality of my hens comb. I'm not sure if this is the result of another chicken pecking at her. However the color seems off as well. Any idea?

I am going to try them on layer crumble but I will also try wetting the pellets. I’m concerned about how quickly the wet pellets could get moldy. So, I will not put it...

Help! My wife is mad at me for feeding the chickens pizza!

Hello. I am in strong agreement with your wife. Pizza is high in sodium and even sugars. A high quality layer feed is all they need.

Help my neighbor said my chickens are being loud :(

I would say that's a good idea as well if it really is the egg laying song. If it goes on throughout the day, then it may be something else.

Does anyone have only ONE breed?

We just have 6 Buff Orpington. We decided on the Orp. breed because they are cold hardy for New England, good egg layers, friend and docile with our grandchildren. Because this is our first year of chickenry, we wanted to keep it simple. Some breeds require more care than others like some of...

Help my neighbor said my chickens are being loud :(

Hello, we have 6 noisy hens also. I have noticed that ours are primarily noisy when the want out to free range in the yard. It starts just after their coop door opens and would go on all day. I too get worried for the same reason. Since I cannot be out in the yard all the time to supervise...
