Help. Sick hen with white spots.

Hen has been sick x 2 days. No mites. No egg production. Not too lethargic. Still eats a bit of mash and water. Used some electrolytes and apple cider vinegar. Now these white spots on one side of her comb. Any insight is much appreciated. Brad

    One Eye Lid Half Closed

I have a one year old hen that had sudden onset of one eye lid that has either swelled or looks a bit like pytosis. It is slightly swollen. I rinsed her eye out with a saline wash. No scratches or debris. No crusting or discharge. I added a Vetericyn ophthalmic gel. Any other thoughts? Best...

    Sudden Death - Poisoned?

I had a pullet, yesterday, have breathing issues with obvious labored breathing, beak open. After 15 minutes she promptly died. I have 27 other pullets and hens. None of them show any signs or symptoms of distress. Could this one pullet have been prisoned? This will be our 3rd pullet who died...

    Naming chickens

I use bands or loose zip ties. Spending time with the flock and noticing subtle changes in feather patterns, temperament, how they act, how they walk, squawk, you may find you won't need bands or zip ties.

    Failure to Thrive

Out of 17, 6-week old chicks, I have one that appears to have failure to thrive, walks like a drunk person-possibly neurological condition. She has incomplete feather grown and is much shorter and delayed in growth in every way. She eats and drinks fine. She has to be separated from the others...

failure to thrive or just small?

Yes. She is kept separate as she gets picked on by the other chicks.

failure to thrive or just small?

I have a Cinnamon Queen that is a failure to thrive and is 5-6 weeks old. Compared to my other 14 5-6 week old chicks, she is tiny, wobbles like a drunk person. I believe she might have some type of neurological disorder. Tell me what y’all think. She’s the one on the right

Multiple Black Spots on Comb - not Pox

My Pullet has some black spots on the front and sides of her comb. Not cold enough here in MT for frostbite yet. They have a nice coop. Have 1 acre fenced free range yard. I see no evidence of her fighting with the other hens. No other pullets or hens have the same issue, She is otherwise...

    Feather loss

I have the same problem. Have couple hens ~1.5yrs old. No roosters. Free range in 1.5 acres. Have 16% Layer Feed 24/7 and water available. They go back and forth the coop to lay their eggs and go into it at night. They do have a fenced off 20ft x 10ft run that is 100% enclosed if needed...
