I have a two year old hen that has a vent prolapse. I noticed yesterday and have applied some preperation H and Vasoline. Today I applied Vasoline again. Both times I tried pushing it back in. It just pokes back out as soon as Im done. Any suggestions?

Prolapsed vents may keep coming back out for several days. Just keep it moist with oil or lubricant so the internal tissue does not dry out, and push it back in. Honey or sugar syrup can help reduce swelling. Eventually, it should stay in. Here is another thread with more detailed info about stopping laying:

I had a pullet with a bad prolapse and this article really helped: https://the-chicken-chick.com/prolapse-vent-causes-treatment-graphic/
I used hydrocortisone to reduce the swelling and Vetericyn to keep it clean. It took several tries to get it to stay back in. I also got some advice—to ease passing poop—to give her scrambled egg with cayenne pepper, oregano, and cinnamon, (it smells atrocious) and add honey and garlic to her water. I had to watch her every time she pooped, but warm baths, gentle pushing, and loads of patience eventually healed her.
Keep her in the dark most of the day to prevent her laying, and good luck!
