I have a young muscovy drake and he has been listless for a few days, no more happy hissing and tail wagging to greet me. His caruncles are not bright red anymore, lost color and look grey now.
Could be anemia, but I can't find any treatment options on the internet. What should I feed him to...
I have an one year old muscovy drake that has been very listless for a few days, he does not want to walk much and does not shake his tail and hisses as he used to. His caruncles are loosing the red color and are turning greyish.

I have the same problem, my rouen drake lost his wife and now is in love with one of the chickens. He is only interested in one hen and hangs out with her all day. In the morning he is the first one out of the coop and then he waits for her and she is always the last one out, trying to avoid her...
I hope they have a safe trip with great weather and lots of fun. I think German Authorities and Intelligence are doing everything to keep travelers safe.
Hello from SoCal, yes, get chickens, you will have so much fun with them. I got my first ones last year and have my first hatch in the incubator right now.
You should have opened the box upside down.
I got a shipment of eggs yesterday, they were wrapped in bubble wrap and packed with balled up newspaper.
Four of the eggs were totally smashed and one was cracked.
Guess you just never know how they get handled in the mail.
Putting eggs in the incubator I noticed one egg has a small 1/2 inch crack. The crack does not seem to go all the way through the shell and the membrane is intact. Should I leave it alone or put something on, like wax, glue, nailpolish ?
Thanks
I would like to add a few Anconas to my flock, can the eggs be hatched in a Hova-Bator 1602N ?
Right now I have three Muscovies and just love how friendly and quiet they are. Can anyone please tell me about the Anconas personalities ?
Thanks, Isolde
YAY, expecting eggs in the mail today. Incubator is ready, temperature steady, humidity where it should be, but I have a question about air circulation.
My incubator is a Hova Bator 1602N still-air with two small red vent plugs on top. Do I need to keep one or both open for air circulation ...
It was the first thing I read this morning when I signed on the computer. Very interesting, I read it to my husband who loves eggs, but worries about eating too many.
