    So - the wee barred looking chick has dark legs on the front - does that indicate a gender or is that just a genetic thing?

    I was wondering that too - he is a pretty big guy. He also had some black in him and some brown shaver feathers - in fact, quite similar to his fast feathering chick. I also thought leghorns were supposed to be massive, but he must be a mix with another large breed.

    I absolutely thought all barred rocks gave blue eggs - because she looks exactly like a BR. I only found out differently on this site, lol.

    The Dad is the obvious handsome boy in the front, Mum is behind and the potential other Mum is the brown shaver in the back

    The big feathered one with black and white is the leghorn/brown shaver mix. 5 weeks. The two smaller less feathered ones are both the barred/leghorn/eggy mess. LOL - and it has been hard to gender so far because the parents appear to have been quite a mix themselves.
