Hi from new zealand! Questions about gender/sex link/breeds

Wait, I know! Okay. So, the slow feathering white is a female who came from a blue egg. The black/white is a male who came from the brown, and the barred is a male who came form the blue.

The big feathered one with black and white is the leghorn/brown shaver mix. 5 weeks. The two smaller less feathered ones are both the barred/leghorn/eggy mess. LOL - and it has been hard to gender so far because the parents appear to have been quite a mix themselves.

I do now. If the mom was barred, the males would be barred, females would not. But the white chick is looking super suspicious, but since the dad is a leghorn mix, that could explain itself.

That’s what I deduced. I’m guessing you have one girl.

oh!! That explains it! 2 cockerels for sure then.

Cockerels would be barred, since the barring proves one of the parents is barred. Since the dad is a leghorn mix, the mom has to be barred then. Pictures of the mom? dad?
